Timcheh is thrilled to announce the return of the Timcheh Music Festival with its second edition:  TMF2023! Once again, we’re bringing together contemporary Iranian and other international artists, partly living in the diaspora in Europe and beyond. The festival is dedicated to  showcasing various genres within the spectrum of experimental electronic sounds.

Our curated program features a music workshop, an art exhibition, live concerts, and DJ sets. To uphold our community spirit, we’ve teamed up with artists from our previous edition to shape this year’s lineup. These contributors include Art Saves, Jessica Ekomane, Peter Kirn, and Monibi, all adding to the artistic vision of Timcheh.
We’re thrilled that Kambiz Kia, an established player in Tehran’s underground scene, co-curates our club night with Monibi. Friday (01.12.) and Saturday (02.12.) will be packed with 13 musical performances, live concerts and DJ sets, and the festival will wrap up with a club night. This year we complement the festival with two new formats on Thursday (30.11.):  A workshop and a VR exhibition.

INFORMATION

Our Mission:

We want to make our events accessible to all people.

This is an ongoing process that we are continuously working on. We know that barriers can be as diverse as the people who encounter them. Therefore, it is our intention to reduce barriers as much as possible and to transparently communicate the barriers we encounter in advance.

We welcome questions and suggestions about accessibility that help us to organize our events as inclusive as possible.

Send us an email with the subject accessibility to info@timcheh.de. With regard to the accessibility of our events, we are being advised by the Cologne-based organization Mittendrin e.brV.

Accessibility of the Kulturbunker:

The accessibility of the Kulturbunker has been thoroughly assessed by the organization Kulturliste Köln e.V.:

  •   The building is accessible at ground level or by ramp.
  •   Wheelchair spaces are available, the event is not seated but if you need a chair, these are available.
  •   An elevator is available.
  •   Doors and passages are suitable for wheelchair users.
  •   A barrier-free toilet is available.

Here you find videos of the ways to the different rooms of the festival.

More Information

The main event is a music festival, with unfortunately no support for deaf people and people with hearing disabilities.

There will be no support for blind people or people with visual impairments. However, assistance dogs are allowed at our event. There is a room where the dog can stay during the festival, water is also provided here. Unfortunately, dog care cannot be provided.

There are discounted tickets available. Also, people with disabilities can take an accompanying person with you free of charge.

Directly in Kulturbunker there is a possibility to eat at the barrier free Cafe Tore. It is open until 10 pm.

There is an awareness room at the event. Only soft music is played here and there is a couch available. It is a small room (approximately 15 square meters) where about 6 people can stay. Here, as well as in all toilets, hygiene products and protective pants are provided.

Parking

Unfortunately, there are no parking spaces for people with disabilities in front of the venue itself. The nearest public parking spaces for people with disabilities are located in Berliner Straße 76 and 77.

Barrier-free Public Transport Stops

  • With the subway line number 4 you can go to the stop “Von Sparr Str”, from there it is only a two minutes walk to Kulturbunker.
  • The busses of lines 151 and 152 stop at the station “Schützenhofstraße”, only 100 meters away from Kulturbunker.

There will be a contact person on site for support and questions for people with disabilities or mental-emotional illnesses, neurodivergent people as well as all others who feel addressed (regarding e.g. orientation in the room, storage of medication, offer of an escort from the nearby stops). This contact person is available before and during the festival and can be recognized at the event by shining armbands. The telephone number is: 0177 6946438.

If you have any unanswered questions or would like support, feel free to send us an email with the subject accessibility to info@timcheh.de and we will work together to figure out how we can improve your experience. We also welcome questions and suggestions about accessibility that help us become a more inclusive festival!

The climate crisis is one of the great challenges of our generation, that’s why for the first edition of the festival we cooperated with the Munich-based project office WHAT IF for sustainable culture, and drafted a concept to limit the negative environmental effects of our festival. Of course, this year we will also be following the guidelines that have been drawn up. Our sustainability concept includes, however, not only environmental measures (e.g. using reusable materials, short travel distances and environmentally friendly logistics) but also social sustainability (e.g. fair payments to the artists and volunteers).

Kulturbunker is located very close to the Rhine in beautiful Köln-Mühlheim. When deciding for Kulturbunker as our venue it was important for us that the venue is well known for intercultural events, welcoming people independent of their origin, gender, sexual identity or religion. Another main aspect was its barrier free accessibility as well as the easy and barrier free accessibility with public transport.

Public Transportation:

  • With the subway line number 4 you can go to the stop “Von Sparr Str”, from there it is
only a two minutes walk to Kulturbunker. This stop is barrier free.
  • The busses of lines 151 and 152 stop at the station “Schützenhofstraße”, only 100
meters away from Kulturbunker. This stop is also barrier free.
  • You can also walk from train station “Wiener Platz” (subway lines 4, 13, 18), from there it
is about 1 kilometer to walk. This stop is not barrier free.
  • You can plan your trip individually with one of these services:
    • KVB (Kölner Verkehrsbetriebe)
    • VRS (Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg)
    • VRR (Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr)
    • Deutsche Bahn

Parking:
Unfortunately, there are no parking spaces for people with disabilities in front of the venue itself.
The nearest public parking spaces for people with disabilities are located in the Berliner Straße
76 and 77.

Bike:
If you want to come by bike and do not have your own one, you can easily rent a bike, for
example at one of these services:

  • KVB-Rad
  • Radstation Köl
